Literature Text

At first I didn't believe you,
Because foreverandeverandforever
You'd insisted this was good enough for you.
You'd insisted you were happy,
And I was happy,
And that all we needed was each other.

But even as I laughed at you,
Shook my head in disbelief in how
Much of a flawless liar you seemed to be...

(Which shouldn't have surprised me,
Because every other part of you
Was flawless too) –

Your eyes glazed over
And they stopped smouldering.
For the first time ever, they stared straight through me.
I realised you were being deadly serious.
I'd just been lying to myself for so long,
Trying so hard to forget judgement day would ever come.
Hmm, this is only a small extract of the full length poem. But that just goes on and waffles. So, here's the best bit.
Let me know what you think :)

Love it! There's quite a bit of emotion oozing from this that makes it painfully real

Intrigued though, I want to read the rest...
